Even though they're already gainfully employed, the majority of workers today say they regularly search for job opportunities with another company, a new poll finds.

According to the job search website CareerBuilder, nearly seven in 10 employees surveyed said looking for another job was a regular part of their daily routine. Approximately 30 percent of participants said they searched for another job once per week.

Brent Rasmussen, president of CareerBuilder, indicated that despite the down economy, workers today are actively looking for job opportunities as they arise.

"The majority of workers are regularly exposed to new job opportunities and are willing to consider them," said Rasmussen. "They may not leave their jobs right away, but they're keeping aware of possibilities and planning for their next career move."

Several recent reports have shown business owners putting a greater focus on retention, and analyzing the best methods that may encourage a worker to stay with the company. Providing more comprehensive employee benefits and increasing salaries have been among the tactics used, with varying degrees of success.
